We offer blown insulation, which is an ideal choice for adding insulation to an existing building.
When you are building a home or commercial building, your options for insulating it are pretty wide open. However, once construction is completed and a few years pass and you want to upgrade the insulation, it gets a bit trickier if you don’t want to take down walls. When the only option for insulation was batt insulation, it ended up being a very invasive project, but with the advent of blown insulation, also known as blow-in insulation, it is a far easier endeavor.
At 31-W Insulation, we offer a wide variety of insulation options because we know that every situation is different. We want to be able to offer you the insulation that gives you the benefits you are hoping for in a cost-efficient and time-efficient manner, as well as with the least disruptive process possible. For insulation retrofits, blown insulation is often the material of choice because we can fill wall cavities without removing the interior wall material or the exterior siding like we would need to do to insert new batt insulation.
There are two main types of blown insulation: cellulose and fiberglass. Cellulose blown insulation provides roughly R3.5 for each inch of product installed and is efficient for 20 to 30 years. Fiberglass blown insulation provides R2 per inch, but lasts longer with a lifespan between 30 and 50 years. Both are great products for filling in walls, as we need only to make small holes that can be easily repaired.
